Wine degustation at a winery & a visit of the St. George Monastry,
Half-Day Excursion
Bulgarian wine has undeniable taste qualities. It is worldwide famous and it has won many international awards. Merit for the great taste of the Bulgarian wines is the specific climatic and geographic characteristics, and the ancient tradition in the area of viticulture and winemaking. Grape growing and wine production have a long history in Bulgaria, dating back to the times of the Thracians. Bulgaria was the world's second largest wine producer in the 1980s, but the industry declined after the collapse of communism.
Bulgaria is now home to a growing number of promising wine pioneers, but perhaps the most distinguished era of Bulgarian viticulture so far dates back to the mid-14th century.
