Sofia – Rila Monastery - Plovdiv - Borovets,  2-Day Excursion

 

1st Day: Early morning departure; Plovdiv – a walking tour of the Old Quarter, visit to St. Constantine and Helena church; lunch; time at leisure in downtown Plovdiv; early afternoon departure to Sofia; Sofia – a walking tour of the main landmarks of the capital (St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the National Assembly building, St. Nicholas Russian Church, the Summer Palace, the Presidency, the Council of Ministers, St. Petka, St. George and St. Nedelya churches); time at leisure; dinner and overnight in Sofia;

 

2nd Day: Breakfast; early morning departure to Rila Monastery – the biggest and the most beautiful one in the country, an excellent example of the Bulgarian Revival arts and architecture; monastery sightseeing tour and time at leisure; lunch; early afternoon departure to Borovets – time at leisure; late evening return.
